Tantra is a philosophy that cultivates and encourages physical expression of the body to be one with the universe. It is much more than spiritual thoughts or a set of practices; rather it is a lifestyle, a way of perceiving yourself and others. It involves bringing conscious awareness to your experience and a desire for sacredness in all of life. It begins through loving the self as a divine being and then allowing that love to spread to our partners – our world.
Our facilitators are masters of their subjects and teach through experiential exercises, demonstrations, and example. The Teacher Training course is led by Laurie Handlers (the founder of Butterfly Workshops) and Michele Younger Wortman (senior staff trainer and course leader for Butterfly Workshops). There will be guest speakers and educators in the field of Tantra and supporting modalities throughout the course.
Butterfly Tantra Teacher Training takes place in three modules over eight months with the certification event scheduled and delivered within six months of the completion of our third module. Each module has specific intentions and goals for leadership and each is built on the content and completion of the previous module. Course modules will be held at various locations throughout the United States.

The certification event will be a Bliss Course weekend facilitated by co-graduates and observed by a training facilitator.
Tuition includes three training modules and course materials. Meals, lodging and travel expenses are not included. Cost of room and board (approximately $450 - $550 per module) will be due six weeks before each module begins.
The tuition for Butterfly Workshops Tantra Teacher Training and Certification Program is $4,950.00 US dollars.
In this training, you will develop the skills to:
- Understand and work with group dynamics when teaching Butterfly Tantra courses and events
- Maintain clarity and presence with yourself and your audience while leading
- Lead and teach in a clear and sensitive way about delicate subjects regarding body, sexuality and core issues that may surface
- Facilitate movement beyond resistance and fears
- Become a vital and powerful Butterfly Tantra teacher
- Present powerful techniques effectively, having mastered them in your own body
As a participant in this training, you will be coached and supported in learning how to lead groups in:
- Bringing conscious awareness to body and mind and the desires of both
- Latihan and movement meditations to your audience safely into the unknown
- Weaving dark to light, body to mind and sexuality to spirituality
- Emotional release processes and clearing exercises
- Distinguishing and speaking personal intentions with clarity
- Discovering that each of us is the creator of our own reality and experience
- Prolonging and deepening lovemaking - generating/containing more sexual energy
- Transmuting sexual energy to rejuvenate the body, stimulate creativity and reverse the aging process
Each training module will include a core curriculum:
- Exercises and techniques to develop awareness, presence, and clarity
- New techniques to increase passion, pleasure, joy, intimacy and blissM
- Personal coaching and attention to each student’s emotional, mental and physical growth and movement
- Demonstration, presentation, and hands-on experience of leadership
- Creative adventures in fun, joy, self-expression and bliss
- Marketing and business build
Module I: Foundations
- Leadership, Integrity, and Service (first Friday and Saturday)
- History of Tantra and Butterfly Tantra
- Ethics and creating a safe environment for transformation
- Foundation and distinctions of Butterfly Tantra
- Personal presence and presentation
- Energy Essentials 1 with teeni dakini.
Pre-requisites for Module I:
- Completed and accepted application with deposit
- Participation in Butterfly Workshops Bliss, Ecstasy courses
- An agreement to complete Butterfly Workshops’ Initiation course before the beginning of Module III
- A consistent daily practice that includes Cobra Breath and one Butterfly Tantra exercise or process
- Completed pre-classroom homework given with your acceptance into the training
Module II: Advanced Foundations
- Creating the space start to finish
- Moving participants into their personal intentions
- Advanced listening and speaking skills
- Breaking free to lead in power and presence
- Introduction into leading Butterfly Workshops’ advanced courses
- Energy Essentials with teeni dakini
Module III: Teaching Practicum
- Leading half-day and full-day workshops.
- Event creation
- Presentation – individual and group
- Advanced coaching skills

- Advanced Tantra rituals and processes

Pre-requisites for Module II & III:
- Completion of previous module and all projects and assignments completed
- Interview with course facilitators
- In good standing with finances
